NORWOOD PARK — Changes are planned for the start of the Northwest Side Irish Parade set for March 15, organizers said.

The 12th annual parade will step off as usual at noon at Onahan School, 6634 W. Raven St., and head south to Neola Avenue and then north on Northwest Highway to Harlem Avenue. The review stand will remain at the corner of Northwest Highway and Raven Street, organizers said.

But trollies, floats and larger vehicles will line up to march in the parade at the corner of Northwest Highway and Nagle Avenue in an effort to ensure the parade goes smoothly and participants are safe, organizers said.

All parade participants should check in along Northwest Highway between Nagle and Napoleon avenues.

The change will prevent northbound and southbound traffic on Nagle Avenue from being interrupted, organizers said.

Sammy L. Davis, a veteran honored for heroism during the Vietnam War with the Medal of Honor, will be the grand marshal of the parade.

Applications to march in the parade are available at northwestsideirish.org.
