WICKER PARK —   Looking for a reason to get out of your hopefully warm home and explore the Wicker Park and Bucktown area this weekend?

Friday

9 p.m.  Celebrate rapper Dr. Dre's 50th birthday.  Dre Day 2015 will feature performances by the Low Down Brass Band and Altered Tapes.  Also on tap: Dre Karaoke hosted by Chicago's Original Rap Karaoke. Tickets are $12- $15. Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Saturday

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last Saturday to Vote Early Before Tuesday's Election.  Pop by one of 51 spots across the city to cast your vote for mayor, alderman and other elected posts. Bucktown Wicker Park Library, 1701 N. Milwaukee Ave., 2nd Floor.; Goldblatt's Building, 1615 W. Chicago Ave.

9 a.m. to Noon. Mingle with the Breakfast Queen. Ina Pinkney, who closed her West Loop brunch spot on Dec. 31, 2013 after more than three decades, will be whipping up a few dishes from her new cookbook "Taste Memories," including "Heavenly Hots," pasta frittata and sour cream coffee cake. Feast Restaurant, 1616 N. Damen Ave.

10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free Personal Pizza or Topperstix. Check out Toppers, the newest pizzeria in the neighborhood, which is hosting a grand opening party with free 'za on Saturday. Toppers, 1658 N. Milwaukee Ave.

11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Opening Day at Shuga Records.  Score vinyl and concert posters at Wicker Park's newest record shop. 1272 N. Milwaukee Ave.

11 a.m. to 7 p.mShop at Helen Yi's Final Trunk Show on Damen. Highland Park-based Grace Steer's line of comfortable "breathable' clothing, Wear in Good Health, takes the spotlight at Yi's final trunk show, ending on Sunday. In March, the boutique will close after 12 years in Bucktown. Helen Yi, 1725 N. Damen Ave.

6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Celebrate the Chinese New Year.  Students will learn how to make vegetable fried rice, dumpling soup and virgin Mai Tais at a family cooking class. Tickets are $25/person. Register here, or call 773-235-COOK (2665).  The Kids Table, 2337 W. North Ave.

Sunday

5 p.m.  Oscars Viewing Party.  Get decked out to watch red carpet coverage of the 87th Annual Academy Awards and cheer on your favorite Hollywood stars while sipping martinis. Blue Line Lounge and Grill, 1548 N. Damen Ave.
