COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A McKinley Park man accused of beating and robbing two people outside the Bridgeport Inn earlier this month was held on a $275,000 bail Friday.

David Fulkerson, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery for the Feb. 6 attack.

Prosecutors alleged Fulkerson and an accomplice were hanging out at Bridgeport Inn, 2901 S. Archer Ave., when they decided to rob two other patrons outside the bar about 2 a.m.

Fulkerson and the accomplice, who has not yet been charged, approached two men and said "What do you have?" before the accomplice pulled a 4-inch knife, according to police and prosecutors.

The duo proceeded to take a phone and wallet from a 29-year-old Bridgeport man — and a phone, wallet, North Face jacket and house keys from a 30-year-old Pilsen man, according to a police report.

Fulkerson punched the 30-year-old man several times, Assistant State's Attorney Lorraine Scaduto said during a bond hearing Friday. When the 29-year-old victim jumped in to defend him, Fulkerson's accomplice stabbed the man in his upper torso, she added.

The victim was eventually treated at a local hospital and released.

After the stabbing, prosecutors said, Fulkerson and his accomplice ran north, while the victims bolted south.

According to Scaduto, surveillance footage from the bar shows Fulkerson and the accomplice inside Bridgeport Inn just before the attack.

Police said Fulkerson, who lives in the 3700 block of South Wood Street, was positively identified in a photo.

Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan ordered him held in lieu of $275,000 bail.
