Gary Comer Youth Center Wraps Up Black Film Series Feb. 25

GRAND CROSSING — A film that chronicles the history of the black press will conclude the Gary Comer Youth Center’s 5th annual Black Film Series Wednesday.

On Feb. 25, “The Black Press: Soldiers without Swords” will be the last of the month-long series, which focused on the theme “self-determination.” The film will address the role that the black press played in shaping the modern African American identity.

Those interested in attending can view it for free at the center, 7200 S. Ingleside Ave. at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
