CHICAGO — Spring is coming, we promise. But that doesn't mean a late-winter getaway isn't in order.

The folks at Rub's Backcountry Smokehouse might have just what any winter-weary Chicagoan needs: A few nights' stay at the new Rock River BBQ Ranch in Beloit, Wisconsin.

The ranch, which owner Jared Leonard likened to a barbecue bed and breakfast, had been invite only last summer. Now, the 3-acre barbecue heaven with a three-bedroom home, outdoor smokers and 140 feet of waterfront is accepting reservations.

Rates begin at $179 a night and goes up from there depending on which amenities vacationers plan to use, said Jared Leonard, owner of the ranch and Rub's in West Rogers Park.
