PORTAGE PARK — The work of three artists will fill the walls of the Perkolator Cafe through March 31.
The exhibit organized by Northwest Arts Connection will feature painter Erika Doyle, illustrator Andrew Krueger and collage artist Patti Melzer.
The artists will discuss their work from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at Perkolator, organizers said.
Doyle's bright canvasses are inspired by Pre-Columbian cultures with samplings of primitive folk art, and elements of Indian, Japanese, Mayan, tango and other cultural heritages, organizers said.
Heather Cherone discusses Perkolator's opening:
Krueger's intricate drawings in black and white are packed with details that produce a three-dimensional effect, organizers said.
Melzer’s abstract pieces are inspired by shades of pink, in an effort to communicate energy, hope and peace, organizers said.
The exhibit is the third in the series of showings at Perkolator, 6032 W. Irving Park Road.
