Englewood Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Another Wounded Sunday

CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was killed and a 24-year-old man was hospitalized after a shooting in Englewood Sunday morning.

Around 3:20 a.m., the two men were inside a minivan stopped at a red light in the 1400 block of West 71st Street when men in a tan SUV pulled up behind them and opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The 24-year-old man was shot in his right arm and face and was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Estrada said.

The 21-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition after being shot in his back. He was later pronounced dead, Estrada said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Lynell Bradley Jr., of the 6500 block of South Laflin Street. According to the autopsy results, Bradley died from multiple gunshot wounds.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
