CHICAGO — Police are warning Avondale and Logan Square residents after three armed robberies in the neighborhood this month.
In the three robberies, offenders approach the victim, display a handgun and then demand money. The offenders then search and remove property from the victims, police said.
The incidents occurred at: the 2500 block of North Lawndale on Feb. 11 at about 3:30 a.m.; the 2800 block of North Springfield on Feb. 13 at about 6:05 a.m.; and the 4100 block of West Nelson on Feb. 13 at about 6:40 p.m.
The offenders are described as two male Hispanics between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age. In the first robbery, the offenders were described as wearing masks. In the second robbery, the first offender was described as wearing a black nylon bandana and red hooded sweatshirt, and the second offender was wearing a camouflage jacket and pants. In the third incident one offender was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, while the second one was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.
