CHICAGO — The Dunning Community Garden is now accepting applications for plots in its third year of operation.

Thirty-four beds are available, and 10 more will be added in the spring to the garden at 6532 W. Berteau Ave. Beds will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, organizers said.

Beds measure 4-feet by 8-feet at the garden found between between Wright City College's parking garage and a city sanitation facility.

For new gardeners, plots are $60 each or $55 for those 60 years and older. For returning gardeners, plots are $30 or $25 for those 60 and older.

The deadline for applications is April 10, and gardeners will be notified by May 1 of what plots they have received.

Last summer a shed was built there, and this season, shelter and seating will be added for gardeners.
