JEFFERSON PARK — Teens looking for an edge can attend a series of workshops hosted by the Chicago Park District at Jefferson Memorial Park.
The free workshops will cover leadership, sports instruction and giving back to the community through culture, arts and nature in an effort to help teens gain "marketable skills," park district officials said.
Workshops include:
• Take the Lead: Participants will learn how to build community, learn cooperatively in a structured environment with clear limits from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. March 7 at Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N. Long Ave.
• You Can Do Good: Participants will learn various ways to use culture, arts and nature to produce collaborative and creative activities from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. March 14 at Jefferson Memorial Park.
• Sports Instruction and Fundamentals: Teens will learn the fundamentals of sports, ice breakers, grouping strategies, problem solving and teamwork from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. March 21 at Jefferson Memorial Park.
