NORWOOD PARK — The second annual Edison Park Lutheran Church Hunger Bowl will raise money and collect donations for the New Hope Community Food Pantry, organizers said.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at Edison Park Inn and Bowl, 6715 N. Olmstead Ave., organizers said.

Co-sponsored by Thrivent Financial, the hunger bowl is part of the church's Salt and Light Mission, which strives to address hunger on the Far Northwest Side, said Cynthia Davies, a member of the church.

Participants are asked to donate a large bag of grocery items for New Hope Community Food Pantry in Norwood Park.

Bowlers — either individually or in teams of five — must sign up in advance for a 75-minute game, organizers said.

The first Hunger Bowl last year raised $2,000 and filled seven minivans and SUVs with donations, Davies said.
