Police Warn Loop Residents After Three Weekend Robberies

CHICAGO — Police are cautioning Loop residents after a series of robberies this past weekend.

The most recent incident occurred Sunday at 10:31 p.m. in the 1200 block of South State Street. The other robberies both occurred on Saturday: at 7:15 p.m. in the 300 block of East South Water Street and at 6:48 p.m. in the 100 block of North Beaubien Court.

During each incident, a man approached the victims and asked for the time. He then revealed a handgun and demanded cell phone and money, police said.

The offender is described as a black man wearing a black skull cap, dark blue puffy coat or blue jacket over a hooded sweatshirt. He is between 16 and 22 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-10 and between 130 to 170 pounds, police said.
