AVALON PARK — If you don't have health insurance because you need help understanding your options, plan on attending an upcoming free enrollment and wellness festival.
Get Covered Illinois wants people to enroll before the Feb. 15 deadline. On Wednesday, people will be able to enroll at WVON's Legacy Room, 1000 E. 87th St. from 4-7 p.m.
Fitness and nutrition experts will be available to answer questions, along with free health screenings and even an open mic. The event will also feature a smoothie tasting, line dancing, salsa and stepping.
Those who don't enroll in a health insurance plan by the deadline will face a minimum $325 fine. If you plan to enroll at Wednesday's event, make sure to bring a photo ID, your Social Security card and proof of income.
