School Bus Crashes into Building, No Children on Board, Police Say

DUNNING — No one was injured after a school bus struck a building early Thursday morning in Dunning, police said.

At 8:12 a.m., officers responded to a call of a traffic accident involving a school bus in the 6500 block of West Irving Park Road, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The bus was empty when it crashed into the Card Frenzy store in the Dunning Square strip mall in the  6500 block of West Irving Park Road, Sedevic said, citing preliminary information.

The investigation is ongoing, Sedevic said.

According to the Secretary of State's Office, the bus is registered to R&D Bus Company in Flossmoor. The company declined to comment on the incident.
