ROGERS PARK — The owners of Revive Consignment, a women's clothing shop, said they hope to lead a "revival" on Pratt Boulevard.

Olga Florian-Mest, 55, and Jackie Marchand, 33, met at the church next door to their shop at 1606 W. Pratt.

"I wanted to start a store to help women in the community," said Florian-Mest, of Evanston.

Marchland said she hosted clothing swaps with friends in Rogers Park. The events grew popular, and too big for her apartment building's basement.

That's when the duo's pastor introduced the idea of opening a shop in the church's building at Pratt and Ashland Avenue. The business opened its doors during the summer, but just now the two hope to get the word out to the wider community.

Marchand said her cousin thought of the store's name, and it stuck.

"Revive can mean so many things," she said. "We can help people revive their wardrobes and we're reviving the planet by keeping clothing out of the landfills."

Added Florian-Mest: "It means a revival for women, as well."
