ENGLEWOOD — A local journalist and Chicago resident will launch a three-month series of community discussions on gun violence on Monday night.

Journalist Bill Healy and South Side Chicago resident Chiquita Toby will publicly hold their conversation at Kusanya Cafe, 825 W. 69th St. at 6:30 p.m.

This first neighborhood dialog is apart of a three-month multimedia reporting project called “Reporting Back.” It was created by the Illinois Humanities Council.

As Chicago residents share stories about their experiences in communities affected by gun violence, members of the community will be able to sit, listen and even chime in.

Healy is a freelance journalist who has produced month-long series in the past for Chicago Public Radio station WBEZ. He produces StoryCorps for the station. Some of his work has been on NPR and the BBC.
