ROGERS PARK — It might be freezing outside now, but spring — and the start of the urban growing season — is coming.

The Peterson Garden Project plans to host a meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at the Willye B. White Park field house, 1610 W. Howard St., for residents interested in gardening at the Hello Howard Community Garden.

The garden opened last year across from the park.

Registration begins in February and the garden opens April 25.

The 130-raised garden beds made use of a long-vacant, city-owned lot while the city shops the former Lerner Newspapers site to potential developers.
