CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was pistol-whipped and shot Monday night in Englewood, police said.

Two men walked up to the man in the 2000 block of West 68th Place around 8:30 p.m. and hit him in the head with a pistol, which caused the gun to go off, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition after being shot in his right hand, Estrada said.

The incident appears to be domestic-related, Estrada said.
