28th Ward Book Club's Next Read: 'Gone Girl'

WEST SIDE — The 28th Ward's first lady will lead a women's book club focused on the psychological thriller "Gone Girl" later this month.

Melissa Conyears-Ervin, wife to Ald. Jason Ervin, will host the book club at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at Park Douglas Apartments, 2719 W. Roosevelt Road. Refreshments will be provided.

Participants can reserve a copy through the Chicago Public Library online, in person at Legler Library, 115 S. Pulaski Road, or Douglass Library, 3353 W. 13th St. Copies of the book are reserved under Ald. Ervin's Book Club.

Copies may also be available at the West Chicago Avenue and Theodore Roosevelt library branches. Copies of the book can also be purchased at local retailers and online.

For the second year in a row, thriller "Gone Girl" was the most checked-out adult fiction book from the Chicago Public Library. The book is by Chicago-based author Gillian Flynn.

The 28th Ward includes parts of a diverse collection of West Side neighborhoods: Austin, Garfield Park, North Lawndale, Little Italy, Little Village, Pilsen, Tri-Taylor, University Village and the West Loop.
