JEFFERSON PARK — A health fair at Beaubien Elementary School will offer screenings as well as free flu shots.

Sponsored by Ald. John Arena (45th) and the Beaubien Parent Teacher Organization, admission is free to the fair scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at the school, 5024 N. Laramie Ave.

The fair will also offer free posture analysis, blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index assessments, fitness activities, health information presentations, massages and cooking demonstrations, organizers said.

Flu season typically starts in the fall and peaks in January or February, and the influenza vaccine is the best protection against getting sick, city health officials said.

A raffle will take place for four Disney World Hopper passes, an American Girl Doll, tickets to see the Chicago Wolves hockey team and Chicago White Sox.
