COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — An armed man robbed two delivery drivers in the same West Town block last week, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The first attack happened about 2 a.m. on Jan. 7 when a driver pulled up to the 2100 block of West Washington Boulevard, Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said during a brief bond hearing.

As the driver walked up to an apartment building, 19-year-old Tushawn Trimble pointed a gun at the man's chest and demanded cash, Antonietti said.

Two accomplices, who have not been charged, took the 34-year-old driver's money and cell phone while Trimble held the gun, prosecutors said. The driver got in his car and sped off, leaving the food behind.

A second delivery driver was attacked three hours later when he brought food to a different address on the same street, prosecutors said.

When the driver pulled up, he called Trimble, who said he'd be right down, according to Antonietti. Prosecutors didn't specify whether Trimble had placed the two food orders himself.

Trimble pointed a gun at the 23-year-old driver, who never got out of his car, and demanded money and food, Antonietti said. The driver complied and drove off.

Trimble, who lives in the 2100 block of West Randolph Street, turned himself in on Monday and was charged with two counts of felony armed robbery, Antonietti said.

Cook County Judge Donald Panarese Jr. on Tuesday ordered Trimble held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
