LINCOLN PARK — This year's ZooLights was the most popular in the event's 20-year history.
A record-breaking 502,000 guests visited the zoo during the special holiday event, according to the zoo.
“It’s been incredible watching ZooLights transform from a holiday light spectacular into a multi-generational tradition,” said Dana Jussaume, director of sales and events. “The opportunity to share Lincoln Park Zoo with this many people is the best gift we could have asked for this year.”
The addition of the first-ever BrewLights and its 5,000 attendees helped push the zoo over the top.
While ZooLights and its 2 million lights are closed, ice skating remains open on the weekends through March 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sundays.
