BRIDGEPORT — Chicago Restaurant Week is all about getting out and exploring new places in the city.

But the two-week dining event, in which more than 250 restaurants serve up special price-fixed menus, is also a chance to try some neighborhood restaurants you might otherwise be saving for a special event. 

The dining dash takes place Jan. 30-Feb. 12 throughout Chicago and the suburbs. 

Here's a look at some of the restaurants on the South Side. Click the links to be taken to their Chicago Restaurant Week special menus.

This year, organizers from the Choose Chicago tourism group have put together a Chicago Restaurant Week Instagram contest, where contestants can snap photos of their meals and win prizes like concert tickets, restaurant gift cards, wine accessories and more.
