CHICAGO— A Chicago Police officer was injured early Saturday in Roseland when a woman slammed into a squad car, police said.

At 2:19 a.m., officers in two squad cars were responding to a call in the 40 E. 107th Street, when a 34-year-old woman driving a sedan at a "high rate" struck the rear end of one of the squad cars, which then crashed into the other squad car, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

Only one of the four officers at the scene was in the squad car at the time of the accident. The officer was taken to Metro South Medical Center in good condition. The woman was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in good condition, Estrada said

Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, but the incident is still under investigation.
