COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A volunteer at the 2013 Ditka Dash used a race organizer's open computer to swindle $15,000 from her bank account, prosecutors said Friday.

Guadalupe Sauseda, 31, told police he spent the money on drugs, lawyer fees, child support and WWE tickets for his kids, Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said during a brief bond hearing.

On Nov. 30, 2013, Sauseda was volunteering at the annual 5K race — which raises money for charities and features runners donning "superfan" attire that pays homage to former Bears coach Mike Ditka. Sauseda spotted a computer a 34-year-old West Town woman had left inside a tent, prosecutors and court records said.

The Gage Park resident transferred $15,000 from the woman's Square account to his own bank account, court records show.

Sauseda, who lives in the 5200 block of South Trumbull Avenue, was charged this week with felony identity theft. The victim identified Sauseda in a photo lineup. Officials did not say why Sauseda wasn't arrested earlier.

On Friday, Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois ordered Sauseda held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
