Two Debates Scheduled for 38th Ward Candidates

PORTAGE PARK — The Portage Park Neighborhood Association will host a debate between the seven candidates in the 38th Ward aldermanic race at St. Pascals Church, on Jan. 21.

The debate is scheduled to run from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Pascal, 6143 W. Irving Park Road, and is expected to include remarks from Belinda Cadiz, Tom Caravette, Michael Duda, Carmen Hernandez, Jerry Paszek, Heather Sattler and Ald. Nicholas Sposato (36th).

The 38th Ward includes Dunning and parts of Portage Park.

The candidates are vying to replace retiring Ald. Tim Cullerton (38th), whose family has held the 38th Ward seat since 1973.

A second debate for 38th Ward candidates is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Stahl Family Theater at St. Patrick High School, 5900 W. Belmont Ave. This debate is sponsored by the Portage Park Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Portage Park and the Northwest Side Housing Center.
