EDGEBROOK — The Edgebrook Community Association will host a forum Jan. 21 featuring candidates vying for the 41st Ward and 39th Ward seats on the Chicago City Council.

In the 39th Ward, Ald. Margaret Laurino (39th) faces two challengers: Robert Murphy and Joe Laiacona.

In the 41st Ward, Ald. Mary O'Connor (41st) is being challenged by Chicago Firefighter Anthony Napolitano and Joe Lomanto.

The forum will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Edgebrook branch of the Chicago Public Library, 5331 W. Devon Ave.

Laurino will not attend the forum because of a prior commitment, said Manuel Galvan, the alderman's spokesman. Instead, a statement from the alderman, who has been alderman of the 39th Ward since 1994, will be read at the forum, Galvan said.

Questions for the candidates should be submitted before the debate to talk2eca@gmail.com.
