CHICAGO — Two men are dead and one boy is wounded after a daytime shooting in South Shore Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The shooting occurred in the 2200 block of East 79th Street at 3:20 p.m., according to Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.
A 19-year-old man shot in the head was found dead at the scene by police.
An 18-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition after being shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
A boy, of an unknown age, was taken to Jackson Park Hospital after being shot in both legs.
The 19-year-old man was identified as Joe Bennett, of the 8000 block of South Chappel Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 3:38 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The 18-year-old man was identified as Corie Williams, of the 7900 block of South East End Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m., according to the morgue.
Zala said a gunman fled after shooting at the group while they were outdoors.
