ROGERS PARK — In the market for a meditation center?

If so, Inner Metamorphosis University, which offers morning meditation sessions yoga classes and more, could be yours.

The center, at 1418 W. Howard St., is listed for $685,000. But owner and founder Amona Buechler, 45, said she'd also be willing to lease the storefront.

She lives in one of the upstairs apartment units.

She said she's decided to give up the center and travel the world for the next couple of years to learn about the wellness practice she's most passionate about: "Feldenkrais." The method teaches its followers to relearn basic, everyday movements, such as walking and rolling, to improve coordination and flexibility.

"I don't know where I'm going to end up," Buechler said inside her center Monday.

The meditation center opened in 2005, she said. Shortly after, she also opened Lake Side Cafe there to accompany the center's other activities.

But the restaurant became too much work and detracted from her desire to teach, so she closed it in 2009.

Since then, the center's commercial kitchen has been used sparingly for special events, she said.

Regular events, including morning meditation, yoga and Tai Chi, will continue at Inner Metamorphosis until the end of March. By then, Buechler hopes to have a buyer or lessee.
