By Josh McGhee | January 5, 2015 5:27am
For the last 15 years, fans of Elvis Presley have flocked to the Original Mother's, 26 W. Division St., to celebrate his birthday by gyrating to his timeless grooves. On Thursday, what would have been Presley's 80th birthday, the party will return for the 15th Annual Elvis Fest.

CHICAGO — It's that time of the year again, where we break out the old blue suede shoes and celebrate The King's birthday.

At the fest, a crew of Elvis impersonators will storm the stage performing hits played by a live band. Fans are also encouraged to participate in the look-a-like contest to win a trip for two to escape Chicago and head to Las Vegas.

From 7-11 p.m., fans can meet Dick Biondi of 94.7 FM as he broadcasts the festival live. Fans can also enjoy the King's favorite sandwich, peanut butter and banana, for free in a buffet.

There is no cover for the festival but a $5 donation to benefit the Chicago Red Cross is recommended.
