• The young ballplayers of Jackie Robinson West captured the hearts of Chicagoans as they played for the Little League World Series championship. But now another area Little League is pushing for an investigation into allegations the team's players were improperly recruited.

A Rosemoor Little League official, irked at allegations JRW redrew its boundaries without telling his organization or getting permission, says an investigation is in order.

“I can tell you 200 percent that we didn’t sign off on that map,” Ricardo Coleman said.

• When a sheriff's deputy attempted to serve a former Ald. Wallace Davis with a subpoena related to a ballot challenge from Ald. Walter Burnett (27th), Davis avoided the subpoena - after tripping over his dog.

Davis said he fell over his Doberman Pinscher on the way to the door, landing on the floor and injuring himself.

"[After that] I think he saw the dog and decided to leave," Davis said of the sheriff's deputy.

• Uber has released what it's calling the Chicago Safety Checklist, encouraging riders to take extra steps to keep safe. This transpired after an Uber driver was arrested and charged with raping a drunk passenger who passed out in his cab.

• The redevelopment of the former Children's Memorial Hospital site is likely moving forward after a judge tossed a lawsuit intended to stop the $350 million project.

"It's good news for Lincoln Park. We needed a new economic anchor to offset the loss of our largest employer and this plan will create our new neighborhood crossroads," said Ald. Michele Smith (43rd)

An opponent of the plan called the court order "silly."

• If you fondly remember your days walking the streets of Champaign or Madison - or even Lawrence and Ann Arbor - a Roscoe Village man has just the thing for you.

Eric Strand - an Illinois State grad - hand-draws his School Street posters, which depict maps of college towns, such as those that are home to the universities of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Kansas. In all, 21 schools are represented.
