Two Men Shot in the Back Among Four Wounded Since Thursday Night

CHICAGO— Four people were wounded, one seriously, in gun violence since Thursday evening, police said.

At 3:43 a.m. Friday in Belmont Cragin, a man, whose age wasn't immediately available, was shot in his leg in the 2200 block of North Narragansett Avenue, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, Pacheco said.

No other information was immediately available.

Also in Belmont Cragin at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, two men, ages 25 and 42, were standing outside in the 5600 block of West Fullerton Avenue when a man got out of the passenger side of a dark-colored sedan and opened fire, Pachecho said.

Both men were shot in their back and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. They were listed in stable condition, Pacheco said.

At 7:30 p.m. in South Austin, a 22-year-old man was standing in the 5000 block of West Fulton Street when a dark-colored sedan pulled up and fired several shots, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his face and abdomen, Pacheco said.

According to police, the wounded man is a documented gang member.
