14-Year-Old Boy Among Five Charged in Fatal Clearing Home Invasion

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy is among five charged with killing a Clearing man during a home invasion Monday morning.

Ricardo Ruvalcaba, 18, was killed in the 10:20 a.m. incident in his home in the 5500 block of West 63rd Place, police said. He was shot in his chest and stomach, dying when he got to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

All five people arrested in the incident were charged with first-degree murder.

Three of the accused also were charged with home invasion: Schanise Barfield, 22, of the 200 block of North Leclaire Avenue; Nathaniel Jefferson, 24, of the 100 block of North Laramie Avenue; and Quinton Washington, 24, of the 4900 block of West West End Avenue.

Barfield also received three traffic citations.

Diamond Gamble, 23, of the 5000 block of West West End Avenue, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and had an outstanding warrant out on him.

The boy was only charged in the murder.
