CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot in Austin Tuesday night, authorities said.
The incident occurred in the 400 block of North Lawler Avenue about 7:55 p.m., according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.
The man, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Abraham Cooper, was shot in his chest and shoulder.
He was pronounced dead at 8:36 p.m., medical examiners said.
