Clearing Man Shot and Killed During Robbery Identified

CHICAGO — A man was shot and killed during a robbery in Clearing Monday morning, police said.

At 10:20 a.m., two men were commiting a robbery in a residence in the 5500 block of West 63rd Place when they shot an 18-year-old man in his chest and stomach, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, and was later pronounced dead, Lemmon said.

Two people of interest are being questioned, Lemmon said.

The victim has been identified as Ricardo Ruvalcaba, 18, of the same block where he was killed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was pronounced dead at 11:08 a.m., the morgue said.
