Man Charged in Loop Convenience Store Robbery

CHICAGO — Police arrested a Bronzeville man in connection to the robbery of a Loop convenience store earlier this month.

Ardamis Simms, 35, of the 4800 block of South Champlain Avenue, was charged with armed robbery after he allegedly robbed a convenience store in the 100 block of North Franklin Avenue on Dec. 5.

Police said he entered the store armed with a handgun about 4:45 a.m. and announced a robbery. He left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was later identified as the culprit and charged.

He was due to appear in court Sunday.
