CHICAGO — A Colorado man has been charged in a 1994 Lakeview murder after police linked his DNA to the crime, Chicago police said Saturday.

The victim, Bonnie Boudouvas, 28, was found stabbed to death in her Lakeview apartment in the 3900 block of North Ashland Avenue on May 14, 1994.

Area North cold case detectives linked the DNA of David Ramirez-Martinez, 45, to the crime scene. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was put in custody Thursday. Ramirez-Martinez was extradited from Boulder, Colo., to Chicago where he will face first-degree murder charges.

He is due in court Saturday.
