CHICAGO — A 57-year-old man was shot during a robbery attempt Wednesday night in Austin, police said.

Around 10 p.m., the 57-year-old man was walking in the 5600 block of West Madison Street when he was approached by three men who demanded his property, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Loyola Hospital in stable condition after being shot in his left buttock, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
