ROGERS PARK — Police responded about noon Tuesday to reports of gunfire in alley near Touhy Park.

Two squad cars blocked traffic in the alley, located between the 1600 blocks of Jarvis and Sherwin avenues. Police tape had also been suspended around a small crime scene.

An officer at the scene said no one had been hit in the apparent shooting. He said five shell casings had been recovered there. Another gold-colored casing could be seen on the ground near a dumpster after the crime scene was cleared.

No other information was immediately available.
