PORTAGE PARK — Distinct Bath and Body will celebrate its first anniversary with party from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Wine, cocktails and appetizers will be served to celebrate the store at 6051 W. Irving Park Road in the Irving Austin Business District, owner Sam Davis said.
The store sells handcrafted soap and also offers products from other small companies throughout the country that make all-natural bath products, Davis said.
"We have received some great feedback from the neighborhood and community," Davis said.
The nearby Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Road, reopened this month, giving business owners hope that foot traffic will increase in the area around Irving Park Road and Austin Avenue.
The area is also set for a $600,000 facelift that city officials hope will boost local businesses.
