South Side Shootings Wound Three Overnight

CHICAGO — A man wounded just after midnight in Englewood was among three people shot on the South Side overnight.

Around 12:04 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot while standing on the sidewalk in the 6600 block of South Halsted Street, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was struck in his arm and taken to St. Bernard's Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. No one is in custody for the shooting, Estrada said.

Around 11:50 p.m., a 22-year-old man told police he was shot while standing in the 500 block of West 87th Street in Gresham, Estrada said.

He took himself to Advocate Christ Hospital, where he was in stable condition after being shot in his chest. No one is in custody for the shooting, Estrada said.

An hour earlier, a 21-year-old was shot multiple times in Jeffrey Manor.

Around 10:50 p.m., the man was standing in the 9600 block of South Merrion Avenue when a car pulled up and someone hopped out an opened fire. He was shot twice in his right arm and listed in good condition at Christ, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
