CHICAGO — Chicago Police will be on high alert for drunken drivers this weekend on the South Side.
Police will set up a checkpoint looking for impaired drivers 6401 S. Ashland Ave. in Englewood from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.
From 7 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday, police will conduct a special DUI patrol in the Bridgeport-based Deering District.
During a similar crackdown last weekend in the Grand Crossing District, 116 tickets were issued and two people were arrested for driving under the influence, police said.
