CHICAGO — For the second straight day in the city, thieves early Wednesday crashed a minivan through the front glass doors of a store to steal merchandise. And this time it wasn't a pawn shop. It was the Neiman Marcus on the Magnificent Mile.

Around 4 a.m., police were called to Neiman Marcus, in the 700 block of North Michigan Avenue, for a theft in progress, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Thieves had driven a white minivan into the front of the store, and several men were spotted taking items. Two men were arrested near the store after the incident, Estrada said.

On Wednesday morning, window displays remained untouched as workers swept up the broken glass and measured broken window frames.

It's unclear what was stolen from the store, Estrada said.

The incident is the latest in a string of crash-and-grab burglaries. Tuesday morning, a group drove into an EZ Pawn in Marquette Park.
