Police Warn of Garage Burglaries in Lakeview, Roscoe Village

CHICAGO — An uptick in garage burglaries on the North Side caused police to issue a warning to residents Saturday.

Police said someone is breaking into garages and stealing items from the garage or vehicles parked inside.

The incidents have occurred in the:

• 2800 block of North Paulina Street on Nov. 26 and 27 between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.;

• 2000 block of West Belmont Avenue on Nov. 27 and 28 between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.;

• 1700 block of West Diversey Parkway on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.;

• 3000 block of North Hamilton Avenue on Dec. 3 and 4 between 9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.

Police had no description of the suspect, but advised residents to be aware of suspicious people or activity and not to leave items in vehicles.
