NORTHWEST SIDE — A firefighter running to represent the 41st Ward on the City Council will have to overcome a challenge to his nominating petitions filed by a businessman with ties to the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce to remain on the ballot.
A union official challenged the nominating petitions filed by four of the nine candidates to replace Ald. Tim Cullerton, whose family has represented Portage Park and Dunning since 1973.
