LOGAN SQUARE — There’s only one rule in SantaCon Logan Square: You need to be dressed like Santa.

Chicago SantaCon is coming to Logan Square for the first time Dec. 13 and the event is free and open to the public — especially the ones dressed like Santa with a thirst for daytime bar-hopping.

Join a whole host of Santas, including Mrs. Clauses and “all manifestations of holiday debauchery” as SantaCon Logan Square makes its way from The Eagle monument in Logan Square’s center and down Milwaukee Avenue.

SantaCon is a themed event, part flash mob, part bar crawl, according to organizers of the Chicago chapter. Partygoers at the worldwide Holiday event can hit at least seven bars during SantaCon Logan Square, a new bar every hour from 2-8 p.m. Music, bikes, the like are all encouraged, according to the SantaCon organizers, but a costume of the jolly man in red is mandatory.

“Remember to be courteous to the bar staff and try to bring cash — it'll make it easier for everyone involved,” according to an announcement for the new Logan Square event. “Discreet and responsible on-the-go beverages are allowed, but remember, SantaCon is about celebrating positive, quirky [and] inclusive fun.”
