CHICAGO— Two Chicago half-marathons will merge into one spring event Downtown next year.
Life Time - The Healthy Way of Life Company announced the Michelob ULTRA Chicago Spring 13.1 Marathon will merge with the Chicago Spring Half Marathon to become the Michelob ULTRA Chicago Spring 13.1 and 10K to be held May 17 in Lakeshore East Park.
The event will celebrate the city's emergence from winter hibernation and kick off "the much-anticipated long-distance running season," said Mary Beth Kunz, race director for Life Time Athletic Events.
Participants are encouraged to make donations to the llinois Chapter of Muscular Dystrophy Association, a partner in the event.
The Michelob ULTRA Chicago Spring 13.1 will be limited to 5,000 participants, and the 10K will be limited to 1,000 participants. Interested runners are asked to register at chicagospringhalf.com.
