CHICAGO — A Far Northwest Side bar has one option for irritated fans watching Jay Cutler and Tony Romo face off Thursday night: drinking.

Emerald Isle in Edison Park posted a promotion on Facebook Thursday with specials for $2.50 domestic bottles of beer and "$4 Bombs" for those wanting to "vent" their frustration while the 5-7 Bears take on the 8-4 Cowboys.

"We like to encourage the social aspect as opposed to the drinking one," said a laughing Emerald Isle manager Chris McHugh, who created the Facebook post. "With the Bears' record, it's tough to drum up interest when the team starts doing poorly. When they're not winning, we do what we can to make our own fun."

Part of that fun was McHugh's post jokingly saying the over-under for red zone interceptions Thursday night would be two dozen. Earlier this year, Romo was labeled by complex.com the "most criticized quarterback" in NFL history, with Cutler ranking fourth on the list. Also this season, Donovan McNabb called Cutler "The Tony Romo of the Midwest" in a scathing radio interview.

"We get a lot of football fans at the bar, and it kind of seems the whole Cutler-Romo thing seems to be two sides of the same coin," said McHugh, of Norwood Park. "If they swapped jerseys, I don't think fans of either team would notice."

Emerald Isle is located at 6686 N. Northwest Hwy.
