CHICAGO — A man accused of sexually assaulting a Rogers Park woman two years ago has been sentenced to 36 years in prison, according to Ald. Joe Moore (49th).

James Minor, 20, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual assault after the incident near the Lunt entrance to the Morse Avenue Red Line Station, according to Moore.

On Dec. 19, 2012, a 50-year-old woman was walking south on Glenwood Avenue and near the Morse station and Lunt Avenue when Minor grabbed her about 5:25 a.m., authorities said.

Minor pushed her into a nearby construction site and sexually assaulted her, police said. He took her purse and other personal items before running off.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

After the incident, members of the Guardian Angels passed out fliers with pictures of the attacker outside the Red Line station.
