HYDE PARK — Mayoral candidate Amara Enyia has shut down her campaign headquarters after a burglary early Saturday, according to the campaign.

The offices at 30 E. 69th St. suffered thousands of dollars in damage, appliances and office equipment were taken and campaign materials destroyed, according to campaign spokeswoman Megan Walschlager.

“We’re disappointed that this happened but not discouraged,” Enyia said in a statement. “We’ve got our eye on the goal of getting on the ballot and moving forward with the hard work of our dedicated campaign team.”

The offices will remain closed until repairs can be made, Walschlager said.
